Hon’ble Minister, for Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt.of India Shri.Mukul Wasnik visited the school showed special concern towards the school infrastructure including the class room which were beyond his expectations. He appreciated the efforts taken by the VSS towards up bringing of MR Special Girls.
VSS achieved one more milestone by starting Vocational training centre specially for girls with residential facilities named as INDUTAI DHOBLE WORKSHOP & REHABILITATION CENTRE FOR MR GIRLS ADULT at Sawarbandhe layout Hudkeshwar. The vocational training helped students to be self reliant, self dependent & self employed. Govt too supported the same by recognizing the workshop for 40 residential & 20 non residential students.
Assessment based on previous year session was completed, result analysis helped in planning the new session effectively. The assessment included academics curriculum, co- scholastic areas and administration.
Inuagration of the workshop recognised by the Commisner , Apanga Kalyan Ayuktalay Pune MS. the student were welcomed 1st Day and made aware of the objective to be achieved.
Dental Check Up Camp for all the student to make them aware about healthy habit to keep our teeth clean & strong. Dr.Arunima Panse played A KEY ROLE IN arranging the check up. Mr.Amarjeetsingh Gaherwal renowned social worker Mr.R.k.Cib Senior officer of WCL, Mr.Sunil Mitra, Secretary BJP of west Nagpur, graced the occasion. Every one appreciated the efforts taken by the VSS towards upbringing of MR Special Girls.
In the same month overwhelming & most motivated moment occurred in VSS milestone. The Reporters of Renowned Newspaper Dayanik Bhaskar visited our school surprisedly. They were very astonished to see the ongoing work. And with full heartedly gave half page coverage in their daily newspaper on dated 9th July 2010 with the touchable heading as “TAKI JEEVAN MAY HO UJJALA”.
Towards indicating the morals & ethical values in the VSS celebrated “INDEPENDENCE DAY” on 15th August 2010. Flag was hoisted by chief guest Mrs.Kirti Ajmera Renowned naturopathies, & Mrs.Usha Naidu was present on the occasion. Chief Guest & Main Guest enjoyed & appreciated the dance ‘Radha Hi Bawari’ preform by the Special Girls. All the office bearer & staff of L.D. Special School & I.D. workshop were present.
Festival of Rakhi “Rakhsha Bandhan” was celebrated and students were blessed by Mr.Kishore Khanhere, Trustee, Nagpur Improvement Trust. & Mr.Ishwar Barde. As a token of gift Mr.Kishore Khanhere handed over the cash prize of Rs.11000/- to our girls students for their betterment.
Lord Ganesha the god of intellect was installed for seven days and cultural & traditional games were organized for the students.
School also conducted educational visits to Ajni Railway Station & Police Station to make the students aware about public services.
Mr.Surendra Pawar, Social Welfare Officer, Zilla Parishad , Nagpur visited the workshop. He appreciated the progress & performance of the workshop and recommended for the Grant – in – aid to Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India.
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated the school in which “Vashnava Jan To” was sung by all the students and Mhatma’s portrait was garland by Mrs.Pranoti Dhoble,President VSS.
Under educational visits students were taken to post Office and Market.
“World Handicapped Day” 3rd Dec.2010 a very important day in which students presented a cultural bonanza by performing difficult ‘Hoopla Hoop Dance’ (Dancer moves a ring in the waist & neck region) this could have been possible only becaue of rigorous efforts by the students & Staff.
To enhance teaching & learning process in the school, innovative steps were taken by the school in the form of introducing Audio Visual Aids, which helped to developed students at intellectual & educational level. The tremendous success let the school make animated CD’s consisting of detailed information & action on regular routine activities such as brushing teeth taking bath etc. The CD was inaugurated by Mr.Bajirao Jadhav, Commissioner, Handicapped Welfare Board, Pune, MS. Dated on 3rd Dec.2010 in presence of both Divisional & District Social Welfare officer and was greatly appreciated by all the Sanstha’s & Special Schools working in the field of Handicapped.
“World Mentally Handicapped Day” was celebrated on 8th December 2010 in school. Chief Guest for the function was Mrs.Puspa Malikar, Corporator Bandhu nagar. Sweet, fruits, Pencil Boxes eraser & pencil were distributed by her. Knowing that the said school is a residential special school exclusively for girls, the efforts were appreciated.
The students of school & workshop not only showed excellence in academics but also brought laurels to the school by bagging 1,st 2,nd 3rd position at “District Level Athletic Meet”
NGO like Rotary Club organised sports meet on 6th Jan 2011 and provide a platform to special school where students of both school & workshop participated and also bagged important position. Also the Hoola Hoop dance of the students was requested by the organizer which was greatly appreciated by the audiences.
Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sport Govt. of India & Special Olympic India honoured the students by presenting Certificate. 26th January “Republic Day” was celebrated by paying respect to the National Flag and Sweet distribution.
“Mansanwardhan” annual mega concert was organised by the Sanstha emminent personalities like Mrs.Kanchan Gadkari wife of Mr.Nitin Gadkari President BJP India, Sonnal Thakkar renowned psychologist & counsellor, Mrs.Prabha Dhanvijay Social Welfare Dept. Nagpur, graced the occasion. Students gave their best performance in art, dance & music category. it was greatly appreciated by the people from all the field.
Zilla Parishad Member Ms. Kunda Raut as her regular activity gave feast to the entire student on the occasion of “Mahashivratri” And appreciated the efforts taken by the school.
Parent Teacher meet was organised at School. Progress of the students was displayed shown and planning of the new session was conveyed.

Vishwambhar Shikshan Sanstha is engaged very dedicatedly towards its goal of woman upliftment and education in a unique way for last two decades. Especially the institution is engaged in the education of the physically and mentally challenged girls with special respect to their mental, social and educational needs. The institution has started three special schemes for Mentally Challenged Girls. They are as follow
1) Day Care Centre for the mentally challenged girls
2) Help line for physically handicapped boys.
3) Honoring persons working for the handicapped/challenged fields
4) Interviews on All India Radio
In present day we see many facilities for the working couples such as crèches all around. But there is no such facility for the mentally challenged girls. Since there is an increase in the number of cellular families there is a great need of such crèches in the society. With this scenario the parents of the mentally as well as physically handicapped babies face a tough job in the upbringing of there wards. Taking into consideration this special aspect the institution has started a ‘ Day Care Centre’ for the Mentally Challenged Girls in Nagpur.
The children having mental disorders always have a Wandering Tendency due to which the normal schools along with the parents face a tough task to control these children. They have to face many challenges. In addition to this the present scenario regarding the girls is getting worst. Keeping in view all these aspects on the occasion of world handicapped day we are starting the Help Line for such challenged children especially girls.
Our society has given us great people. There lives and there dedication towards the handicapped persons always gives our society a great inspiration. Considering this important aspect we have honored the persons working for handicapped persons on the eve of world handicapped day.
The great moment in the history of our institution which would provide us a real certificate of the social work, the institution has done since inception was a letter from All India Radio Nagpur in the name of President of the Institution Mrs. Pranoti Dhoble for an Interview. On 15.2.2014 this interviews was broadcast from the AIR, Nagpur. In this interview the Director of the AIR Nagpur Mrs. Durugkar, interviewed Mrs. Pranoti Dhoble for her and institutes great efforts in the service for the Mentally Challenged Girls.
The month wise activities and achievements for 2013-14 of the Vishwambhar Shikshan Sanstha is as follows :
Keeping in view our great cultural heritage and the Hindu Sanskriti the festival Gudi Padwa was celebrated in the Sanstha with a great valor. This has provided the information regarding our great cultural heritage of celebrating the Hindu Festivals in the challenged brains of the special girls.
For the year 2013-14 the school and the workshops affiliated with our sanstha, assessment programme for the evaluation of working skills was undertaken. A Parents meet was taken in which the progress report of the girls was explained with there critical aspects to the parents in detail. The girls were given the summer vacations with these events.
Vishwambhar Shikshan Sanstha and the School as well as Workshop celebrated the ‘Maharashtra Din’ on May 1 in the school premises. the President of the Sanstha Mrs. Pranoti Dhoble and Secretary Mrs. Bharati Gomkar were present on this occasion. The flag hoisting was done by the President Mrs. Pranoti Dhoble. In the programme the Secretary Mrs. Bharati Gomkar gave a speech in which the glimpses of the institutional work in the field of Mentally Challenged girls was briefed very effectively. The summer vacations were declared by the teachers staff meeting conducted at the end in which all the teachers and the staff members were congratulated for there great efforts.
In this month the new session begins for the schools and workshops run by the Sanstha. In this session Lilatai Deshmukh Centre for Mentally Challenged Girls Education and Rehabilitation and Indutai Mentally Challenged Girls Workshop started on a new note. The teachers, educators and staff meeting of the two Institutions was called and the programme for the complete year was discussed.
The new session of both the Schools and Workshops started. The new students as well as the old ones are welcomed by the president of the institution. A parent’s meet was conducted with a intention to have a good dialogue on the expectations of the parents with respect to the Sanstha.
All the new entrants were tested by conducting the separate skill tests and they were properly allotted for the respective skills. Then the Late Sachin Singam Jayanti was celebrated by the Sanstha. Every year Sanstha celebrates the same with great valor. This year the Jayanti was celebrated and the sweets were distributed amongst the girls.
Both the schools run by the Sanstha celebrated the Independence Day with a great enthusiasm in the premises of the school. The Corporator of the Ward No. 13 Mrs. Sangita Girhe presided over the function. The flag hoisting was done in her hands. The President of the sanstha gave the details of the all activities of the sanstha. The Special Girls students gave a very nice dance performance on the Marathi popular song ‘Radha hi Bawari’. The programme was well conducted and compeered by staff member Mrs. Varsha Raut and the vote of thanks was given by Smt Jayashri Nandekar.
Both the schools have the government permission of 45 students. Majority of the students belong to the salaried class families. The timings of such schools in Nagpur is usually between 11 am to 5 pm. Some working class families face the difficulty in these timings as they have a work culture of 8 am to 7 pm. Considering this need and the necessity of the families sanstha was inspired to start the ‘Day Care Centre’ for Mentally Challenged Girls. The such first Day Care Centre was inaugurated on 16.08.2013 in the hands of Sarita Kaushik, News Correspondent Of ABP Maza Channel. The programme was presided over by the chief Coordinator of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Shri Shashikant Bodad who is also the Regional Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuwa Morcha.
In his maiden speech he praised the efforts of the sanstha in upbringing of these mentally challenged girls. He gave the special stress on the social needs of these girls. Shri Abhijit Raut told that this is the first ever venture of the sanstha in complete Maharastra of its unoque nature. He also stated that the Nagpur Municipal Corporation should establish such facilities in each and every Ward or Zone.
The festival of Raksha Bandhan was also celebrated with a great valor. The all girls of the school tied the Rakhis to Shri Arun Mehadia, President of Lions Club of Orange City with a great pride. This event was presided over by Mrs. Prabhatai Dhanvijay, Officer in charge of Social Welfare Department, Nagpur Zilla Parishad. Shri Arun Mehadia presented the educational aids to all girls on this occasion.
This month was full of Festivals. All there festivals were celebrated in the school with the main aim of cultural education of the girls. Especially the festival ‘Haratalika’ being the festival of ladies was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Also the ‘Ganesh Festival’ was celebrated this year also in the school.
The main and popular newspaper ‘Hitavada’ in Central India, published a great editorial on the Sanstha. Really it was great honor offered by the new print media in the name of the sanstha.
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated in the both schools with the Lions Club of Orange City, Nagpur. The special teachers told girls the special events in the life of Mahatma Gandhiji. On this occasion approximately more than 30 members of the Lions Club visited the school and praised the great efforts of the sanstha. Such one member shri Vandile donated the sum of Rs. 5000/-. The Lions Club of Orange City donated the grains and the other kirana items to the Residential School.
On the occasion of Navaratri a Dental Camp was conducted in the school for mentally challenged girls jointly by Rotary Club of Nagpur and Mrs. Arunimtai Panse, Director, Shanaruz Dental Clinic. Also the meals was provided by Mrs. Arunimatai Panse.
All the girls of the school were re assessed for the skills for which they were previously assessed from the point of view of there progress and the problems there in. In the same month the festival of lights ‘Diwali” was celebrated with the Maitri Group. This group distributed the Pharal eatables along with the crackers amongst the girls.
The Sanstha gave the Gritting Cards to all its well wishers as a token of love and affection towards there great support.
In this month another programme of preparing the Aadhar Card for the girl students was undertaken by the sanstha and the cards were prepared for all the member girls.
The Children Day on 14th November was celebrated in the august presence of Shri Sudhakar Deshmukh, MLA. He tried to have dialogue with the students very effectively. Also the great Actor shri Nitesh Bharadwaj visited the school and had a good talk with the students.
The December 3 is celebrated as the WORLD HANDICAPPED DAY for the Handicapped. On this day the Sanstha jointly with the help of Nagpur Zilla Parishad organized a special rally of the handicapped and mentally challenged boys and girls. The our school girls participated in the rally on Skates. All persons were surprised to see the mentally challenged girls doing the skating very effectively. Shri Sidhartha Gaikwad , Officer, Social Welfare Department praised this special talent and the efforts of the Sanstha.
It was decide that the persons dedicatedly working for the handicapped children must honored with a token of appreciation of there relentless work. Such honor will always encourage the persons presently working in this field and it will also motivated the young generation towards this field which is very challenging. It was decided to honor such four persons from Nagpur who are from this filed.
It includes Mr. Umesh Warjurkar who is working for more than 20 years in this field. The mentally challenged Mr. Nishad Buit from Nagpur who has passed SSC exam with Colours and continuing his further studies. The Rotary Club of Nagpur who is constantly working for handicapped persons in Nagpur and Mrs. Lata Kadav who is having her Husband, Son and Daughter as mentally challenged persons but still she is working for the handicapped girls on a very small negligible honorarium. All these persons were honored on this day in a grand function.
There is a lot of concern about the hyper active children amongst the parents and in our society also. These children do not sit for longer time at a single place and they wander a lot. It becomes quiet difficult to control them. Keeping in view this major aspect our Sanstha has decided to start the Help line for such children. This help line was started on the occasion of World Handicapped Day.
8th December is celebrated as the Mentally Retarded Day. A leading and the prominent Newspaper of Nagpur having largest circulation of Marathi media is Dainik Lokmat. It is a very honor of pride that a big editorial page article on our Sanstha was published in Lokamt on this 8th December 2013. The article was under the heading “Ek Panati Matimandhachya Aayushyaasaathi”.
It is again a pride of honor that in this New Year two consecutive articles written by the president of our Sanstha Mrs. Pranoti Dhoble appeared in the Dainik Lokmat Marathi edition entitled 1. “Kshana Sangharshaache va Waata Prakaashaachyaa” ;. “Devadoota Dhaavun Aale va Tyaanche Jivan Phulale”.
A Educational trip was arranged to visit Railway Museum of Nagpur. On the occasion of Jijamata Jayanti Shri Balasaheb Bhosale who belongs to the direct family of Shivaji Maharaj offered a lunch to the girls of our school. He also promised one day meals to the girls on a monthly basis.
This year also the Republic Day was celebrated in the school on 26th of January with a great enthusiasm. On this occasion Rita Bhargav of Rotary Club Nagpur; renound industrialist Mrs. Vadhavaan and Shri Dewavrat Buit of Bank of Maharashtra were present. The flag hoisting was done by Mrs. Rita Bhargav. The president of the sanstha briefed about the progress of the sanstha. All the three dignitaries expressed there satisfaction on the progress of the sanstha and promised all kind of required help from there side in future. Special Educator Mrs. Varsha Raut gave the vote of thanks.
Every year Sanstha celebrates “Vidya Arambha Samaarambh” to mark the Saraswati Jayanti. On this day the Saraswati pujan is done with the distribution of educational material to the girls of the school.
On February 14th “Udaan Mahostav” was celebrated which was organized by Rotary Club of Nagpur. In this program various cultural programmers are arranged for the Mentally Challenged Children.
Mr. Arun Mehadia of Lions Club of Orange City, Nagpur celebrated her daughter’s birthday with the girls of the school with a tasty Pav Bhaaji to all the girls.
The real acknowledgement of the good work so far done by the Sanstha was received on 15th February by a letter of invitation for an interview from All India Radio Nagpur in the name of President Mrs. Pranoti Dhoble. Mrs. Durugkar Director AIR Nagpur interviewed Mrs. Dhoble about her unique experiences in this novel work.
On March 8th being the International Woman Day in a programme arranged by Raashtriya Sewika Sangha the President of the Sanstha Mrs. Pranoti Dhoble was felicited for her contribution towards the great work in the filed of mentally challenged girls. This programme was chaired by Pallavi Amte, daughter in law of Great Baba Amte and Mrs. Jayashree Pendharkar, famous Dietitian and mother in law of Ex Captain Rahul Dravid.
In this way the Sanstha has done a great and successful work during this year. In this complete year many persons from all walks of life have helped us whole heartedly. Many institutions and donors helped the sanstha a lot. Needless to mention here that the all officials of the sanstha helped us the lot. Without the efforts of all the members of the sanstha this work would be definitely a impossible task.
